Good That: Book of Churches

It’s perhaps a cop-out to describe an album as ‘lovely’, but ‘Book Of Churches’ is exactly that. From the opening strums of ‘Song By A Stranger’ the album embraces you in a warmth that doesn’t let up throughout.

‘All The Good Things’ is a standout track from the project, sounding as if Fleet Foxes’ ‘Shore’ was written about the British coast.

The quality songwriting continues, with ‘Big Love’ another highlight and album closer ‘Stones In Your Bag’ being a poignant, beautiful way to end the project. “You’re sleeping, I’m looking at a stone uncovered by the tide two hundred million years ago”.

Lovely stuff.
